A Deloitte detalhou hoje a lista das 30 empresas portuguesas que mais cresceram nos últimos cinco anos no sector das Tecnologias. A análise, que tem em conta a progressão das empresas ao nível do volume de negócios, coloca a Vision-Box na 29º posição tendo o volume de negócios crescido 77% nos últimos cinco anos.

Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn was on 7-8 November in Lisbon to meet Prime Minister Passos Coelho and discuss how EU funds can best be deployed to deliver more growth and jobs in Portugal in the next round of EU spending. The Commissioner also visited several innovative Portuguese companies including Vision-Box.

The COTEC-BPI 2012 Innovation Award is given out annually to the SME that stands out the most in terms of innovation, competitiveness and cooperation. The award has the sponsorship of the Portuguese President, Prof. Anibal Cavaco Silva.

Vision-Box has been featured in an editorial article just published by “Airport Magazine” focusing on the Schiphol airport automated border control project which processed more than 100 000 passengers in less than 2 months. Robert van Kapel of Royal Marechaussee (Royal Dutch Border Police) had this to say about Vision-Box eGates “We are very happy with the results so far and hope this fast, efficient and safe way of border control will roll out further in the future.”

Mr. Bento Correia, Vision-Box’s President and CEO, was interviewed by TSF radio station. TSF is a Portuguese news radio station, focused mostly in the economic and political fields.
In this interview, Mr. Correia shared his thoughts on the most recent won project in Sweden, as well Vision-Box’s plans for the future regarding the Rwanda, Finland and Latvia projects.
Furthermore, he enhanced the visibility sorrounding the modernization of the Schiphol International Airport, one of the World’s biggest airport.
These projects represent the strong focus in the international markets, Vision-Box expects that 80% of the total revenue from 2011 comes from foreign countries.

Vision-Box was mentioned yet in another press article, this time for IP Magazine, a Portuguese Magazine. In the 4 full page spread Vision-Box was referred as an example of how a Portuguese company can become such an important reference in the high security technology market. Mr. Bento Correia, Vision-Box’s CEO was interviewed for the article and mentioned the positive and proactive attitude of the company “for this board, business success doesn’t lay only on the technology and innovation of the products, but mostly it is essential to have flexibility in internal processes, and maintain them also structured and focused in customer needs”.
Vision-Box was requested to be part of the last issue of TIME Magazine (UK & Ireland Edition). The issue is already on the stands and contains a brochure about Portugal entitled “Portugal, a nation of innovation”. Vision-Box’s President & CEO, Mr. Bento Correia highlighted Vision-Box’s biggest achievements on the automatic border control international market, namely the presence of the e-gates in over 20 airports worldwide, which leads the company to be recognized as the leader in this market. Future perspectives are really positive considering the company entered the market when it was still undeveloped, and now that it’s maturing, growing and requesting specialized technologies, opportunities are multiplying.
Vision-Box was on the cover of the last issue of Exame Magazine, one of the most important business magazines in Portugal. The subject of the article was “How Portuguese technologies innovate and win”, and the President & CEO Mr. Bento Correia, and the Vice-President Mr. Miguel Leitmann were interviewed to explain how Vision-Box is still succeeding during this economic downfall.
Vision-Box was chosen for this article also due to its recent growth and international expansion. The company holds currently the leader title in automatic border control market, with over 200 systems deployed worldwide. In the article, Vision-Box’s history since the start of the company is described, as well as middle and long term plans for the future, where USA have been considered.
