Vision-Box awarded Business Internationalisation Award

Vision-Box has been awarded the “Business Internationalisation Award”, which is an award promoted by the UK Trade & Investment with the British Embassy. The award took into account Vision-Box’s projects in the UK, which have been among the most exemplary and exceptional. Currently, Vision-Box has its automatic border control systems installed in 9 airport terminals across the UK.

Vision-Box awarded International Entrepreneur of the Year

Last night, Ernst & Young’s International Entrepreneur of the Year award was presented to Vision-Box’s CEO Mr. Bento Correia and Senior Vice-President Mr. Miguel Leitmann.

This award celebrates Vision-Box’s successful, growing and dynamic business. Furthermore, it is considered to be among the world’s most prestigious business award, because it awards companies who are the most exceptional among a unique group of companies.

Mr. Bento Correia gave a speech thanking the award on behalf of everyone who works at Vision-Box. For Vision-Box, this is a great achievement and recognition of the hard work, determination and entrepreneurial spirit which runs through the organisation.

Prime Minister José Sócrates visits Vision-Box

Today, Vision-Box received the visit of Portugal’s Prime Minister JosĂ© SĂłcrates and the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Development Vieira da Silva. During his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that Vision-Box’s success had come to the attention of the Government, by saying: “ It is this spirit that our country needs. Senior Vice President Miguel Leitmann, delivered a presentation on “Integrated Border Management: Creating conditions for a faster border clearance process while increasing security”.

Vision-Box donates funds to UNICEF

Unicef_2Corporate Social Responsibility is important for Vision-Box. Therefore, Vision-Box has decided to make a donation to a reputable NGO with the intention of raising the quality of life of people in its operating environment.

This year, Vision-Box decided to send paperless Christmas cards in order to preserve the environment. In demonstration of Vision-Box’s commitment to the development and education of children, a donation was made to UNICEF, using the funds saved by sending electronic Christmas cards rather than paper Christmas cards.

With this initiative Vision-Box hopes to make a difference in creating a better world for children.

ARTS Shawshank 105879Passengers returning to the UK at Manchester International Airport have been encouraged to use new facial recognition gates by Border and Immigration Minister Phil Woolas.

The new gates can be used by any UK or European passenger aged 18 or over who has an electronically-chipped biometric passport, issued since 2006, providing legitimate travellers with an automated, secure route through the border.

Airport scanner IS the face of things to come

manchester-evening-news1SCANNERS which match the faces of passengers to their passports are to be fitted at all British airports after a successful trial in Manchester. More than 300,000 passengers have been scanned since the machines were installed at Manchester Airport’s Terminal One a year ago.
