Vision Box developed the VB People Counting application for the tracking and counting of people and vehicles. This application is compatible with both thermal sensors, intended specifically for this purpose, and counting based on the detection and tracking of objects in images captured by video cameras. Typical applications of this technology include the counting of customers entering and leaving a shopping centre and the counting of vehicles entering or leaving a car park. The VB People Counting Client application allows the counting scores from one or more counting servers to be consulted, independent of the physical location of the servers. The information obtained can be presented in the form of graphs, tables or plain text. It can also be printed, or exported as a Microsoft Excel worksheet. Using the VB People Counting Client application it is possible to request information about the number of people counted by a given sensor, or group of sensors, during a given time interval, and with a given temporal resolution. Counting data can be displayed simultaneously for up to eight sensors in bar-chart or tabular format.
