On the 5th of November at ID World, Mr. Miguel Leitmann, Vision-Box’s Senior Vice President, will present the case study about Vision-Box’s latest deployments, providing technical insight and describing the general business requirements, which define the framework for a successful implementation of ABC gates in Europe and around the world.
“Case study: Vision-Box passport gates installed throughout Europe”
Identity recognition and electronic document verification with Vision-Box’s Automated Border Clearance (ABC) gates: it’s all about more speed and increased security at border controls using advanced biometric technologies. With more than 150 deployed systems deployed and millions of airport passengers who have used the gates since mid-2007, this concept has proven itself to be the best solution for efficient and automated clearance at the borders.
Vision-Box’s high-tech borders comply with the e-Border strategy of any nation, supporting the development of tighter security rings, while performing the toughest checks ever, all of this, without grinding the borders to a halt. Countries like Finland, Portugal and United Kingdom have programs under way for nation-wide deployment of ABC systems on all main borders. These systems have been designed having the passenger in mind, providing him a positive user experience and allowing those who have the right to cross the border to get through rapidly and automatically, while freeing the Border Guard to concentrate on high risk flights or passengers.
With more than 20 international airports using Vision-Box’s technology, many lessons have been learned regarding optimization of human factors and the perceived experience of the thousands of passengers, which cross through these fast walk-ins, without having to queue and loose precious time at border controls. This technology, combined with the implementation of ICAO standards in MRTDs, as the chip enabled electronic passport, is becoming an effective way to build secure electronic borders, which can cope with the massive explosion in the number of international travelers.
